Johan Helmich Roman(1694-1758), Swedish Baroque composer, he has been called "The Father of Swedish Music" or "The Swedish Handel". He received his first music lesson from his father, joined the royal chapel in 1711 as violinist and oboist. In 1715 he went to London to study with various teachers, notably Handel whose music made a lasting impression on him. In 1721 he returned to Sweden and soon was appointed as deputy master of the royal chapel and later became the Chief master of the Swedish Royal Orchestra. He composed court music such as wedding music.
