Roussel, Albert

Albert Roussel(1869-1937), French composer, studied at College Stanislas, then entered the Ecole naval as a cadet, served in navy, but pursued a career in music. He studied with Vincent D'Indy at the Schola cantorum, became a well known composer in Paris. He composed one opera, 4 symphonies, several ballet music, piano concerto and cello concerto, Chamber music etc.
